For 2012 Boyesen has redesigned the classic Power Reed for trial-specific applications. The Trials Power Reed now incorporates new beam petal designs that are more sensitive to Trial specific rider imputs. We refined, we tested, and then we refined some more. We learned how to optimize our classic duel-stage reed for the very unique demands of observed trials. The new 2012 Power Reed is the next level in Trial-specific performance. Boyesen’s patented dual-stage design incorporates a specially shaped top reed and a ported bottom reed. The top reed is lightweight and resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPMs. The stiffer, bottom reed is ported to provide maximum flow and horsepower at higher RPMs. More valves equals more power by creating: More Air Flow. The dual-stage design allows you to replace your stock reed stop with a Rev-Plate which permits the reeds to open freely and function efficiently. More Air Velocity. The multi-port feature of the bottom reed creates more channels for the charge, delivering increased velocity to the intake ports. More Overall Power. Dual-stage reeds work in unison to perform efficiently throughout the entire powerband. The difference in stiffness between the top reed and the bottom reed allow the reeds to respond quickly and accurately to changes in engine pressure. This translates into quicker acceleration, crisper throttle response and increased horsepower throughout the powerband.

Boyesen’s Trial-specific reed systems feature category-leading toughening additives to increase reed petal lifespan by resisting breakdown from damaging agents found in fuel. This is done to ensure a long-lasting seal between the reeds and the intake tract time and time again.


MS PLUS FLOW OPTIMIZATION
One reed petal is NOT enough!
MS PLUS Optimization uses multi-staged reeds to distribute the engine’s pulse forces over more surface area. By using a multiple reed petal stack, it is possible to achieve peak horsepower AND response. The top petal is lightweight and resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPMs. The stiffer, bottom petal is ported to provide maximum flow and horsepower at higher RPMs.
