WHY DOES THE POWER X WING WORK SO WELL?
In order to fully understand the performance benefit that the Power X Wing delivers, a rider will first need to be aware of the importance of air velocity and how it relates to your engine’s ability to create horsepower and torque - especially at low RPMs. As air velocity (speed) increases the more viscous (dense) it becomes, causing the air to display characteristics which are more like a fluid. The effective air velocity creates an action known as fuel shearing, splitting the droplets of fuel into a finer gas-like mist. With the two different substances becoming more like one another, your engine will receive a superior air/fuel mixture. This in turn, helps your engine maximize its potential for making torque and horsepower.
THE UNIVERSAL PROBLEM
Air becomes very turbulent when it passes through your machine's air boot. Because modern air boots are designed to work AROUND your machine's rear shock, they often sacrifice air speed and air density when delivering it to the carburetor. Instead, most, if not all modern air boots deliver incoming air to your machine's carburetor in a turbulent state. As a result, the turbulent air does not mix in the optimal ratio with fuel while passing through the venturi of the carburetor. In this regard, air boots have always limited the performance of your machine's engine potential, especially in the areas of low-end responsiveness and torque output.
THE EASY SOLUTION
The solution to this turbulent air problem is found in the design of the Power X Wing's air divider wings. The wings are designed to protrude back into the air boot space, speeding up and straightening the air through its four channels and walls, effectively eliminating the turbulence caused from the air being previously directed through the air boot. As the incoming air becomes less turbulent, the molecules are calmed down and take up less volume. Therefore the air molecules are forced closer together, producing a denser air charge. This charge also increases in velocity, because stable and less turbulent air has less friction when it moves at high speed. Furthermore, the air, which is now more laminar (smooth) in flow, is better able to pass the venture and mix with fuel in the proper ration needed for maximum engine efficiency.
With improved air flow to your machine's carburetor, you will experience a dramatically improved and immediate increase in throttle response, as well as a substantial increase in the low to mid-range torque.
Installing the Boyesen Power X Wing is as very easy and it requires no jetting or fuel changes. Simply install it onto the air box side of your carburetor and feel an immediate difference at the first crack of the throttle with a much stronger pull off the bottom.
